... And here is the HBCLUG SoftwareFreedomDay wiki page. Team HBCLUG has been out and about Whangaparaoa and Orewa raising awareness of free software wherever we can.
2007, there was a stall outside the Orewa Public Library on Moana Avenue - featuring balloons, stickers, Free Software, and a couple of fine folk in lurid green.
2008, saw a larger team at two locations - the library again, and The Plaza in Whangaparaoa. We were also able to get some local businesses in on the action with a gnu/linux demo at computer shops and a series of videos on plasma TVs at Dick Smith Electronics.
2009, looks to be bigger as the number of activists grows. I will be in the country on the day, and I have orecieved loot for the teams and we have FSF gear as well. On top of which, Richard Stallman will be in Orewa on the 29th.
So HBCLUG is putting out the call for volunteers to help out.
