Library display
Likely to be on an A0 or similar sized paper, with sections on different aspects of FOSS. Shouldn't be too wordy since too many words will make people not interested. Intend to have a single double sided A4 handout that contains the material of the display to handout so people can read it at home.
Will promote the Installfest held on SFD itself.
Suggested sections
- What is FOSS? Why is it important? Why should I care?
- Free alternatives to non FOSS software (e.g. Firefox, OOo, Gimp, Gaim)
- What is Linux? What is Ubuntu? Is it easy to use?
- Want to try Linux (including been able to dual boot, and promoting SFD)
Plan
- Will arrange to have a display at the Central Library, and other libraries if possible. Ideally have the display running for two weeks leading up to SFD.
- Maybe a display at UoW and Wintec
- Will work on wording (on this wiki page) by July 8th, and ask for comment to wlug list.
- Then need to decided layout and materials needed
- And then make display.
