Computer Markets Event - Planning

This is currently a Dave Symons braindump for discussion purposes. We will finalise it all on Thursday 7th, 5pm at the Pancake Parlour Civic

Logistics

Times

Markets open between 10am and 2:30pm
Stall setup is from 7:30am (we probably don't need that much time but Dave will get there at that time to grab a reasonable spot, well, try to...).

Numbers

1400 people attend these markets on average

Space

We will be renting two 1.75m x 0.78m tables
A couple of tablecloths could be a good touch

Power

A power outlet within 10 metres is provided by the markets. We will need to bring an extension cord and powerboard(s). Any such equipment has to be tested and certified. Steve is bringing the ones used by CLUG.

Internet Access

Yes (Thanks Nerdvana!) - unless there are technical issues.

Network

Dave will bring a 5 port 10/100 switch plus cables. Daniel has offered to bring an 8 port switch and cables.

Layout

- Say: 4 demonstration PCs, one older hardware, one thin client, the other two with XGL goodness :-)
- Demo PCs can be removed to make room for installation assistance (if applicable) but always have at least 2 going (one old h/w and one "bling")
- CDs, Flyers and Supporters pamphlets (eg. Nerdvana).

Chairs

2-3 are provided by the markets.
There seemed to be plenty available when we went to the markets at the same venue on August 19th.
Probably worth having one in the car in case though.

Food/Drinks

There was tea/coffee available at a stall on August 19th. Not sure if there was any food. Wouldn't rely on it though. Those intending to be there for all/most of the day should bring morning tea and lunch.
