SUITS is the Sydney University IT Society. Sun Microsystems is sponsoring us and providing money for most of the food.
The exact details haven't been worked out yet, but the plan is currently:
- Date: Friday 26th of September.
- Location: School of IT Lab 116, except for the main seminar which will be held in Carslaw 175.

Note: Most of the day will consist of broadly accessible technical talks to IT students. The main event however be a non-technical talk that aims to promote open source software to general university students.
- 9-10: Google Open source Technologies Talk by Grant Alan
- 10-11: Talk by Martin Schwenke a Linux Developer from IBM
- 11-12: Talk on Solaris by Alan Hargreaves from Sun Microsystems
- 12-12.15: Talk.
- 12.15-1: Free Lunch - chance to mingle with guests.
1-2: Main Seminar - The One Laptop Per Child Project by Pia Waugh who has her own wikipedia page!!! (no I didn't create it =P) + talks about linux by Martin Schwenke and the transformation businesses to open source by Chris Leong
- 2-2:45: Developing using Open Source Software by Atlassian
- 2.45-3:00: Strengths and Limitations of the Open Source Software Development Process by Associate Prof. Davis
- 3.00-3.15: Sun Spots - A distributed database system by Tim Dawborn
- 3.15-3.30: Open Source Licensing by Enoch Lau
There will be free food and giveaways.
