Parker School SFD team, Devens, MA

We are 5 high-school seniors from the Parker Charter School (360 students in grades 7-12) in Devens, MA. (wikipedia). Three of us use Ubuntu as our primary OS.

We will request to be the feature presenter at our school-wide assembly on the Wednesday morning preceding or following the Saturday of Software Freedom Day, at which we will give a 5-minute presentation enticing people to come visit our tables set up in the highly-trafficked main lobby of the school. We will also request to present at Speaker hour, where we could talk to about 100 juniors and seniors. We will have several Ubuntu and Windows demonstration machines, and we will be demonstrating Compiz Fusion, Wine, Cedega, Crossover Office, VMWare, Automatix, and all the coolest programs. We will hopefully have our tables manned throughout the day, and at the very least at dropoff, lunch, and pickup, the highest-traffic times. We will post signs to encourage parent carpool drivers to come in and stop by.

Exact details, especially whether we will be able to present at morning gathering and speaker, are unsure. I will be seeing the faculty in early August (school starts at the end of August) to discuss our plans.
