Kish Linux User Group (KishLUG), formerly SharifKishLUG was established in October 2008 (Mehr 1387) by Dr. Mohammad Khansari and some of his interested students, Amir H. Moin, Hamid Farhadi, Mir Hossein Hosseinioun, Iman Khalkhali, and Mohammad Farahani in Sharif University of Technology, International Campus on the beautiful Kish Island of Persian Gulf, Iran. Due to the decision of its members for taking part in the process of development of Kish Island into an e-city, the scope of their activity has been expanded to the whole Island and adjacent areas in the Persian Gulf region.
