Other Info

Gauteng is one of nine provinces in South Africa and consists of the largest urban populations in Africa. In 2009 we planned three events for our team in Gauteng of which Cresta will probably have the most visitors.

Brand new Soweto Linux Users Group will have a Software Freedom Day expo at one of the major shopping centers on 18 September 2010

If you are overcome by a sudden urge to edit our Wiki page please consider the following: 1. Are you a member of our team? 2. Are you a member of East Gauteng Linux Users, Randburg Linux Users, Soweto Linux Users or Vaal Linux Users? 3. If you have answered NO to the first two questions but you still feel a strong urge to edit our page why don't you start your own page(s)? Surely your Software Freedom Day team should tell people about your event? If you need help to create your own page please email andre@andre.co.za - I will gladly assist you :)

What we have done on Software Freedom Days gone by

Software Freedom Day: 19th September 2009:

Software Freedom Day: 20th September 2008:

Held at Sandton City and at Pretoria by andre at cubit.co.za and kin at linuxholdings.co.za - About 25 people were involved and 130 disks distributed (Yeah, We know it is too little, we were out already by 10am)

Photos and more to be loaded here on SA Linux (so if you were there you can see your pretty pic :) ) Only two companies involved in 2008: Cubit Accounting and Linux Holdings, thanks!
