The event was co-ordinated by Akshay, Deepak, Sanjay, Pinky and Hemant. It was guided by Sanjay, Atul, Vivek, Sanchit and Anurag. Other activities included covering about 10 institutes, which arranged the celebrations at different levels from displaying posters to tea-party.
SFD 2007:
Linux Users and Free software enthusiasts are gearing for second consecutive year of celebrating Software Freedom Day in this fast developing, ancient city of Devi Ahilya which is the major hub of education, business and finance in Central India. Indore city has traditionally extended its support to Free and Open Software through technical as well as community contributions and looks forward to celebrate SFD as mark of support to the community.
- Events Update: Software Freedom Day was celebrated here with much enthusiasm and this being our second consecutive year, it was more organised and effective than previous year. The posters, balloons and stickers were put up at prominent public places in the city. The main event consisted of a seminar on FOSS, live demo and distribution of FOSS software and Ubuntu CD, installs and a small party in the end. An "SFD Indore 2007" cake was also arranged. The experience of previous year helped in engaging more people to FOSS and having them join as an ongoing movement. This is expected to ensure organised SFD events in coming years and establishing SFD as an official yearly festival of enthusiasts. More details and photographs will be available shortly.
