hantWe are students of Engineering from SMVD University, Jammu & kashmir, India. We have a free culture here in university in terms of technologies and my university does every thing to support Open Source technologies.

Currently 320 computers in our labs run Solaris / Linux . We have courses on Linux/Unix and we have Java classes too. As a club, we do discuss, exhibit and contribute to open source. We have formed Sun Club an year ago. It is basically aimed at discussing technologies and opportunities for students . We co-ordinate in organizing classes, making utility softwares for our university and organizing various events.

Our team is led by Sushant Kumar (Myself), and some of my friends

  3. Lakshman(Leads at second level,Organizer)
  4. Anshuman(Web lead)

Each lead has 6 support members. So over all we have 40 members including in charge and club lead itself. Currently we have extended the domain of Sun Club and now we have 9 clubs inside Sun Club including

  4. Java Club
  5. Web Designing and Developement
  6. Personality Developement
  7. Networking
  8. Organizing and Event club
  9. Quiz Club

We have an organizing team for each club having 3 members and a lead.

From the day of its formation, this club has organized more than 200 demonstrations of various technologies like

6. Apache and Tomcat

7. Open Solaris

8. J2EE technology and EJB

9. Networking

and many more .
