Software Freedom Day 08 Celebration - Sun Open Source University Meetup at National University of Singapore

Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual worldwide celebration of free/open-source software. SFD is a public education effort, not only to celebrate the virtues of free/open-source software, but also to encourage its use, to the benefit of the public. There are more than 300 teams from over 60 countries celebrated on the second SFD, held on September 10, 2007.

This year we are going to celebrate SFD the first time at NUS on Fri 19th September 2008.

What can be found at the event:

+ 1-2pm: Introduction to SFD talk - Why OpenSource?

+ 2-3pm: Introduction to OpenSolaris talk - OpenSolaris and You

+ 3-4pm: Introduction to Linux talk - Ubuntu: Linux for human beings!

+ OpenSolaris install-fest***

+ Give-away items (Netbeans/OpenSolaris installation discs...)
