Team Canberra

This year we are organizing two events in relation to Software Freedom Day:

Software Freedom Day

Saturday September 20, 10am to 2pm. On the day we will be running a stand at the Computer Fair at the Old Bus Depot Markets in Kingston as we have in previous years. We will be giving away OpenDisc and Ubuntu CDs, providing machines running Linux for people to use, and running various demonstrations of open source games, MythTV and other applications. We will also provide ISO images of OpenDisc, Ubuntu 8.04 and Fedora 9 for people to copy direct to their USB keys.

People who have volunteered to come:

We will have:

What we want to supply:

Installfest

This will be held on Saturday 27th September in room N101 of the CSIT Building, ANU from 10am to 3pm. Interested members of the public are invited to bring their own computers along and get help from CLUG members, to install Linux and other Open Source Software. This provides a better opportunity for people who are interested in getting into FOSS to do so in a comfortable and helpful environment and is a new feature of SFD Canberra Plans.

There will be tea, coffee and a selection of snacks available at reasonable cost during the day. Sausages for lunch are also planned.

We anticipate two types of people at the Installfest:

The chief question still in my head is:

Organiser

The key organiser of the whole event is PaulWayper - email paulway@mabula.net for more information.
