Photos from the HanoiLug SFD Event, 2008

Hanoi Linux user group (HanoiLug) has organized for the third consecutive time (2006, 2007 and 2008) the Software Freedom Day within the compound of the IFI (Institut de la Francophonie pour l'informatique in Hanoi), thanks to the support of the C3LD's project through the "Campus numérique francophone de Hanoi" (Agence universitaire de la Francophonie). Other sponsors included Intel-Vietnam, Asianux who contributed several gifts (backpacks, USB Flash drives, DVDs, etc.).

About 200 persons are estimated to have joined the event which lasted from 9 am til 6 pm, Saturday 20th September 2008. At least 139 persons have registered when receiving free CDs (Hacao Linux, Ubuntu 8.04.1, OpenCD). HanoiLug produced a special CD pack including Ubuntu 8.04.1 Desktop CD and one AptonCD Hanoilug's edition. This year's event we introduced music and magic to the morning program of presentations. The afternoon was reserved for game contest, this year the chosen game was Knetwalk, and about 40 persons registered for that game contest.
