Events Planned: The events will be similar to those which we had in 2005, which was extremely successful.
We will have a Linux Expo/installfest/information day at Wesley Church Hall, 56 Melville St, Hobart.
On the day we will have Seminars on F/LOSS, software handouts, demos, games and general linuxy fun with competitions, prizes and giveaways.
There'll also be a F/LOSS talkback session on ABC Radio from 10am.
We are going to have a range of activities including giveaways, demonstrations, information and advice.
Details:
Demonstrations, etc. will be held at the Wesley Church Hall, 56 Melville St, Hobart Starting at 10 am and finishing at 4pm
Demonstrations at the Hall will include giveaways of Ubuntu - a Linux CD that also contains some software for the Microsoft Windows Operating System.
We will also have
GNU/Linux distributions for burning on-demand. We will be showing specific displays on:
Business productivity software
GNU/Linux based entertainment centre (Freevo/MythTV)
Open Office.org
GNU/Linux on Low-end hardware.
The new XGL 3D desktop technology
Demonstations of the Free software for Microsoft Windows
TasLUG members will be on hand to answer any questions.
