To get maximum impact from Software Freedom Day plans we must try to involve as much of the existing FOSS community as possible and related communities where possible (like schools).
The FOSS community
LUGs - There are 5-600 (or more?) LUGs around the world, all in various stages of activity. We need to contact them all and invite them to participate (also, don't forget other FOSS groups like, BSD, FSF groups, App-specific groups) Someone needs to coordinate this. -- Needs volunteers

The FOSS media
FOSS media -- OSNews, Slashdot, etc. are key disseminators of information in the FOSS community. How do we best interface with them? -- Needs volunteers

FOSS companies
Companies - Many companies provide services or products related to FOSS. These might want to get involved (if asked). This could be as little as linking to our site, to organise something locally, run a sales promotion, up to being a secondary or local sponsor. -- Needs volunteers
Other FOSS Events
Other FOSS Events - A number of FOSS related events will be organised around the world before SFD. We should contact these to explore mutual promotion. Global FOSS Events -- Needs volunteers

FOSS Teams
Teams++ - we should encourage teams in local areas to contact other groups that might potentially form teams to join up. This can be LUGs, etc., but might also be schools or universities.
Education
Schools - Hopefully this years choice of date will allow more schools to participate. We should contact computer teachers, computer clubs, etc. at schools to invite them to participate. Should we divide the schools up geographically -- Needs volunteers
Universities - Contact student members of computer clubs, lecturers in Computer Science, University computing services and possibly law societies (for the IP-law angle). The date might fill in well with fresher's fairs this year. -- Needs volunteers
